Do you like songs about couples struggling with drug addition?
That’s an oddly specific genre of music, isn’t it?
Well, my current song obsession is “The Cigarette Duet” by New Zealand artist Princess Chelsea.
I really like the sound of this song. The beginning rift sounds like a bit from a carnival. The back and forth between the couple throughout the couple is also fairly entertaining if not a bit disturbing at points. Most of the song has this very mellow melody that is occasionally broken by guitar rifts. Despite the escalation in tension conveyed in the lyrics, the music itself never really changes.
